A New End Table

I was lucky enough to find this end table at a great price, especially since it was solid and in very good shape. The only issue was that the top was fairly scratched and had some oily spots on it.  But it was all an easy fix!  I sanded the top to smooth out the scratches and remove any stains.  After cleaning it up and making sure it was dust free, I applied both duck egg blue and old white chalk paint.  After a light second coat of each and some distressing, I waxed with clear wax, then dark for a more aged look.

Here is the before picture.  (The picture, for some reason, made the wood look nicer than it really was. The wood really wasn't that unique, so in my mind, paintable!)

And after-

(The picture may not show the true color of the duck egg blue, as it was a little more green and toned down.)

I'm pleased with the final result!  It went to the shop and a week later found a nice new home.
